He was predeceased by: his parents, Sara Maurine Banks Richardson and Alvin Richardson; and his sister Sarah Barton. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Kelley Richardson; his children, Ginger Lea Richardson (Ryan Nolf) and John Kelly Richardson; his siblings, Linda Banks, Tim Richardson (Belinda), Alan Richardson (Debra) and Tommy Richardson (Krystal); his nephews, Goose Banks, Johnny Mac Barton, Keith Nicewonger, Adam Richardson, Kevin Richardson and Wesley Richardson; and his friend David Kissell (Jimmy Richardson).
