With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jimmye Jenkins Abbott of Jasper, Alabama, born in Lake, Mississippi, who passed away on September 10, 2024 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Marion E. Abbott; her son John Curtis Abbott; her granddaughter Lauren Abbott; her parents, Leo Jenkins and Lydia Jenkins Blake; and her brothers, Perry Joe Jenkins, L. C. Jenkins and Donald Jenkins.
She is survived by: her children, Becky Keeton (Roger), Eugene Abbott Jr. (Cindy), Darwin Abbott (Aires) and Cynthia Beasley (Kevin); her caregiver Cindy Wright; and her grandchildren, Stephen Tubbs Jr., Amy Smothers, Jodi Lawson, Matthew Abbott, Nicole Brannon, Julie Abbott, Sally Watts, Shaun Phillips and Sherri Lockart.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mission Dignity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Building Fund.
