He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren Mize and Louise Mize of Russellville; his parents-in-law, Lynn and Wanda Sherer of Jasper; and his grandparents, Buck and Hazel Scheile of Gorgas.

He is survived by: his wife Buckie Mize; his son David Mize (Amanda); his grandchildren, Lily Mize, Matthew Meadows, Dawson Meadows, Payton Getter, Davis Getter and Aure Getter; his cousins, Charlotte Crandal Rushing, Shaun Rushing (Angie), Tyler Rushing and Kayla Rushing of Haleyville; and his siblings-in-law, Leigh Ann and Russell Colvin of Jasper.

Jeff courageously battled Parkinson's Disease for several years.
