It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Albert Abbott of Jasper, Alabama, born in Lynn, Alabama, who passed away on October 2, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Joy Christine Jackson Abbott; his parents, Orbin Abbott and Trannie Alexander Abbott; and his sister Willodean Abbott. He is survived by: his children, Kay Halbrook (Dale), Harold Abbott (Tonya), Wayne Abbott (Paula), Bobby Abbott (Bridgett) and Kevin Abbott (Maria); his siblings, Odean Taylor (O'Neal), Reba Maddox (Jerry), Betty Wade and Junior Abbott (Melissa); and his grandchildren, Joshua Lane (Autumn), Greg Abbott, Scott Abbott, Brianna Abbott (Aubrey Jones), Ashley Hulsey (Aaron), Allen Abbott, Amy Fisher (Travis), Noah Abbott, Brittany Freeman (Joshua), Nicholas Abbott, Aron West and Brandon West. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
