It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Atkins (Jasper, Alabama), born in Crane Hill, Alabama, who passed away on January 11, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husbands, Kenneth O. Rivers (J. W.) and Arlan H. Atkins; her parents, Onnie M. Calvert and Sarah M. Calvert; and her sisters, Cordie Calvert Kilgo and Jewell Calvert Phillips.
She is survived by: her daughters, Carolyn Rivers Harbison Herr and Reda Rivers West (Greg); her grandchildren, Brian Herr (Allison), Jonathan Herr (Paige), Paul West (Kristy), Lisa Simms (Duane) and Jay West (Amber); her great grandchildren, Jake Herr, Helen Herr, Sam Herr, Henry Herr, Rivers Herr, Dru Simms, Ann Marie Simms, Will West, Eleanor West and Evelyn West; and her brother Ray Calvert (Evelyn). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
