It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Rushing of Jasper, Alabama, who passed away on October 9, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Atkins and Pairlee Elizabeth Atkins; and her siblings, DeVerla Buchanan, Agnes Kitchens, Mary Etta Best, Ruthie Dee Harbin, Louis Atkins, Millard Atkins, Arlan Atkins, Homer Atkins and Grady Atkins.
She is survived by: her children, Shanda Brown of Gulf Shores, Carol Bishop of Jasper and Daryl Rushing (Connie) of Tuscaloosa; her brother Jerry Don Atkins (Betty) of Jasper; and her grandchildren, Brandi Howton (Kevin) of Sumiton, Heather Earp (Blake) of Jasper, Jared Bishop (Erica) of Jasper, Destiny Brown of Gulf Shores and Coal Brown of Opelika. She is also survived by 9 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 20th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Collins-Burke Funeral Home (303 Oak Hill Rd, Jasper, AL 35504). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 20th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the Collins-Burke Chapel (303 Oak Hill Rd, Jasper, AL 35504).
