He was predeceased by: his parents, Claud F. Sartain and Irma Hathcote Sartain; and his siblings, Bill Sartain (Lois), Betty Thomas (Marcel), Sam Sartain (Tallulah), Carolyn Brown (Bill), Ray Sartain (Charlotte) and Ina Walton (Hugh Don).
He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Craven Sartain; his daughters, Sandy Forman (Jay) and Ashley Laird (Matthew); his grandsons, Jackson Curtis Forman, Casey Edwin Forman, Matthew Branton Laird II and Wyn Sartain Laird; his parents-in-law, Spence and Debra Tuggle; and his friend Bill Hyde. He is also survived by siblings; and many beloved nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Northside Baptist Church preschool department or Wounded Warrior Project.
