He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Francis and Emma Uptain; and his siblings, Bryce, Earnest, Harry, Jimmy, Luther and Mary.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Steele Uptain; his son Steven; his daughter-in-law Dana Uptain; his grandchildren, Alexi Brooklyn Uptain and Carson Christopher James Uptain; and his siblings, Leon Uptain and Christine Wade. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
