He was predeceased by: his brother David Haines; his former wives, Fay Drake and Joan Drake; and his parents, Ralph Earl Drake and Margaret Jungels.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Carter Williams Drake; his children, Christine Brightbill (William), Rick Drake (Cecilia) and Col Douglass Drake (Penne); his grandchildren, Justin Brightbill (Rachel), Lindsey Dodson (Aaron), Dr. Aaran Brooke Drake (Kevin Davey), Alexander Drake (Jordan) and Maggie Drake; and his great grandchildren, Samuel Medders, Gareth Brightbill, Cheyenne Dodson, Molly Dodson, Madelyn Davey and Emmett Davey.
In lieu of flowers, Colonel Drake requested memorials be made to Jacksonville First United Methodist Church, 109 Gayle Avenue SW, Jacksonville, AL 36265; or to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 1320 Golden Springs Road, Anniston, AL 36207.
