She was predeceased by: her parents, Shichiro Yamagami and Shizuko Yamagami; and her siblings, Goichi Yamagami and Etsuko Yoshida. She is survived by: her husband Jerry Haynes; her children, Karen Bates (Mark), Becky Singleton (Douglas) and Patrick Haynes (Caitlin); her grandchildren, Hanna Bates Smith (Jared), Cole Singleton, Micaela Singleton and Athen Singleton; her sister Nobuko Simon; and her nephews, Matthew Simon, Jeremy Simon, Ryuji Yoshida and Yuka Yoshida.
