He was predeceased by: his mother Maybell W. Gardner; and his grandparents, Barnie, Obie Gardner, Lance and Frances Waldon.
He is survived by: his father Jerry B. Gardner; his daughter Catherine Sullivan; his brother Jeffery B. Gardner (Sherry); and his nieces and nephews, Dustin Gardner, Craig Gardner, Casey Kennedy, Ashley Johnson and Blake Beal.
