It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lillie Jane Smith (Jacksonville, Alabama), who passed away on December 8, 2018, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is preceded in death by parents, Walker and Marie Snow; 3 brothers, Charlie Snow, Larry Snow and James "Buddy' Snow; sisters, Ruth Forsythe, and Shirley Knight. Mrs. Smith was a resident of Jacksonville for the past 20 years and attended Bonnie Brook Baptist Church. She officiated the Prayer Day on the Square in Jacksonville which began in 2002. She was a former member of the Lion's Club and volunteered at the voting polls for several years. She also loved to go to the nursing homes and sing to the residents. Survivors include her daughters, Rita Brandt and husband Bret, Sherry Beaty and husband Timothy, and Karen Vodosia and husband James, Connie Thursby; grandchildren, Christopher Nazaroff, Nathaniel Lee, Daniel "Ross" Lee, Charles Harbison, Russell Beaty, Ariel Beaty; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Schafer; brothers, Bobby Snow and wife Vi, Dan Snow and wife Bonnie, and Johnny Snow; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special thanks to her long-time friend Mary Marsh. The family will accept flowers or donations can be sent to The Lion's Club or your favorite charity.
