He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther McGinnis and Maudie McGinnis; his wife Joyce P. McGinnis; and his siblings, James McGinnis, Pelham McGinnis, Carl McGinnis, Clarence McGinnis and Barbra Ann Wilson.
