He is survived by: his wife Janet; his son Brian Shaw Reaves; his child-in-law Dr. Jami Reaves; his daughter Melanie Elizabeth Thigpen (Josh Thigpen) of Birmingham; his grandchildren, Clara, Kayla and Liam; his sister-in-law Sandra Reaves of Birmingham; and also, Matt, Rebecca Grogan, Walker, Laynee Grogan and John Derell Reaves (Charlene Reaves) of Rainbow City.
In lieu of flowers, his wife requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Parkinson's Foundation, or The Alzheimer's Foundation.
