He was predeceased by: his grandparents, George, Etoyle Coutoumanos, Thomas Alfred and Minnie Lucinda Edwards. He is survived by: his wife Amber Edwards; his children, Shelby Mason and Zachary "Zac" Mason; his parents, Rita Coutoumanos Edwards and Harvey Lynn Edwards, Sr.; his siblings, Carol Stone (Marty), Harvey Edwards and Tyler Edwards (Katie); and his sisters-in-law, Ashley Beasley (John), Tyne Hinote (Brian), Theresa Bolen and Rhonda Pate. He is also survived by five nieces, five nephews, a godson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a GoFundMe account under the name "Michael Speedy Edwards", which Michael's colleagues set up to assist with medical expenses as well as to ensure the family is taken care of and his children are able to complete their college educations.
