He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mendenhall and Mary Mendenhall of Sheridan; and his siblings, Louise M. Hines, Howard "Joe" Mendenhall and Harold "Red" Mendenhall.
He is survived by: his wife Molly Marvin of Greenwood; his children, Eddie, George W. Mendenhall, Jr. of French Village and Molly Suling (Jeff) of Palmyra; his daughter-in-law Jane Mendenhall of Richmond, Virginia; his grandchildren, Heather Mendenhall, George W. Mendenhall III, Allison Mendenhall, Jeffrey Benjamin Suling, Keene Mendenhall and Jessie Elaine Mendenhall; his great grandchildren, Lauren Bonnett, Andrew Bonnett, Addison McLemore, Corey Suling and Danielle Mendenhall; and his brother Donald Mendenhall of Lebanon, Indiana..
