He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Slaght and Eldora Slaght; his siblings, Everett Slaght, James "Red" Slaght, LaVern Slaght and Rosetta Flemings; and his granddaughter Misty Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Slaght; his daughters, Vickie Parris of Jacksonville, Shirley Parris (Don) of Jacksonville, Brenda Bragg (Kenny) of Anniston and Carla Carr (Stanley) of Jacksonville; and his grandchildren, Johnny McIntyre, Alan Parris, Candice Darden (James), Lee Parris (Amber), Amanda Ball (James), Cameron Murray (Stefanie) and Hunter Carr (Ashleigh). He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
