It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Buford Hubert Matthews of Jacksonville, Alabama, who passed away on August 11, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Tanner Matthews. He is survived by: his daughter Stephanie Matthews-Jewell; his son-in-law Derek Jewell; his daughter Jo Michele Clayton; his son-in-law Alan Clayton; his granddaughter Jordan Melson Allen (Josh); his great grandchildren, Rylee Allen and Cade Matthew Allen; and his sister Mary Ruth Knopp (Carl). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Shepherds Table of Anniston First United Methodist Church.
