He was predeceased by: his parents, Bethel Mitchell and Jimmy LaPrintice Goodwin; his wife Dianne Goodwin; his siblings, Johnny Goodwin, Leonard Goodwin, Joshua Goodwin, Andy Goodwin, Jimmy Goodwin, Leedell Goodwin, Jesse Goodwin, Nancy Goodwin, Johnnie Mae Darrinton and Teresa Darlington; and his stepfather John Darlington.
He is survived by: his sons, Jonathan James (Felecia), Decatur Goodwin of Jackson, AL, Nicholas Goodwin (Felisa) and Jeffery Goodwin (Jakayla) of Mobile, AL.; his grandchildren, Jauquaylon, Jamar, Jamal, Jonathan Jr., Derwin, Nicholas Jr., Lacey, Ariah, Jeffery Jr., Christian and Kennedy; and his great grandchildren, Jalyah, Jamir and Ja'quayah.
Viewing was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Jackson Memorial Funeral Home (203 E Ross St, Jackson, AL 36545). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the New Canaan Baptist Church (65 New Canaan Road, Jackson, AL 36545).
