He is survived by: his children, Clauzell Stokes of Mobile, Earnest Charles Davis (Sharlene) of Jackson, Kathleen James (Evon) of Choctaw Bluff, Rutha Phillips (Frank) of Camden and Sharlot Perine (Samuel) of Gainestown; his nephew John Peoples (Bernice) of Barlow Bend; his sisters, Edna Jiles (Bobby) of Mobile, Brenda Bailey of Mobile, Luvirda Todd of Mobile, Annie Morrissette Johnson of Mobile, Gladys Morrissette of Mobile, Barbara Moore of Lancaster, Calif, Dr. Alice Black (James) of Prosper and Lisa Robinson (Marvin) of Theodore; his grandchildren, Shemeka Martin, Clauzell Stokes Jr., Evon James Jr. Justin Davis, India Stokes, Monique James, Kristin Phillips, Samuel Perine, Renarta Stokes, Savon Perine, Carlos and Rico Smiley; his brother-in-law Elijah Peoples of Mobile; and his friends, Mary Starling, Dora Jackson, Jalen Gaines, James Clarke, Joann Pickens and Barlow Bend. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives.
