He was predeceased by: his parents, George Edward Roney and Thelma Parnell Roney; his wife Harriet C. Roney; his daughters, Beverly Jean Collins and Elaine Roney Guy; and his siblings, Gladys Pearl Lankford, Betty Anderson, George "Bud" Roney and Houston "HooBoo" Roney.
He is survived by: his children, O'Neal Roney (Debbie), Lynn Powell (Tony), Wayne Roney (Jennifer) and Erica Smith (Michael). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lathan Funeral Home (1867 US-43, Jackson, AL 36545). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
