It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Matthew Shannon Clarke of Jackson, Alabama, who passed away on November 27, 2024, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Clarke Sr. and Frances Montgomery Clarke; his son Kendrick M. Clarke Yelder; and his brothers, Edward Clarke Jr., Earnest Charles McReynolds, James McReynolds, Roosevelt Ezell and Mack Clarke.
He is survived by: his children, Matthew Shannon Gordon Clarke Jr. (Krystal) of Coffeeville, Jejuna Clarke of Mobile, DeWayne Taylor of Birmingham, Terrance Elder of Texas, Takashia Jackson (Corey) of Mobile and Andeaneka Royster of Bay Minette; and his siblings, Reginald Clarke (Rose) of Grove Hill, Willie Clarke (Sandy) of Jackson, Mark Clarke (Evangerlean) of Jackson, Larry McReynolds (Clarisa) of Jackson, Andrey Clarke (Lisa) of Birmingham, Frances Clarke of Jackson, Shelia King of Jackson, Edith Tarrant of Birmingham and Tracey of Birmingham. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Sinai Baptist Church (665 Evergreen Rd, Jackson, AL 36545). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
