He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Horton and Eva Horton; and his daughter Terri Denson. He is survived by: his wife Willodean B. Horton; and his children, Michael Horton (Wendie) and Renee Horton. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 4 siblings.
