He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Grover and Bessie Phillips; his parent Ruth Shavers of Jackson County; and his siblings, Ruby Keeton, Dorothy Grffith, Franklin D. Clines and Howard Clines.
He is survived by: his former wife Betty Shavers; the mother of his child Leigh Shavers; his son Gary Shavers II; his grandsons, Caleb, Reese and Cole Shavers; and his sister Elizabeth Hardy of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 at 1:30 PM and from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Valley Funeral Home - Scottsboro (674 Snodgrass Rd, Scottsboro, AL 35769). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
