He is survived by: his parents, Claude "Hop" and Sadie Woodson Stewart; his wife Virgie Roper Stewart of Salitpa; his children, Samuel Lee Stewart of Salitpa, Mary Alice Jackson of Jackson, Edith Bumpers (Randall) of Winn, Shelia McCants (Elbert) of Toddtown, Sandra Cox (Donald) of Coffeeville and Deborah Stewart of Saraland; his siblings, John Curtis Stewart of Jersey City, N. J., Pearlie Jackson of McIntosh, Hazel Hayes of Salitpa and Jessie Stewart of Jackson; his sisters-in-law, Mary Burroughs of Grove Hill, Betty Chapman of Selma, Ella Thrash of Cincinnati and Essie Hall of Chicago, Ill; and his friends, George, Jay, Glenn W. and Chris. He is also survived by grandchildren, 16 devoted great-grandchildren and a host of step-grandchildren.
