He was predeceased by: his former wife Ruby Shiver; his daughters, Judy Greenwood and Kathy Davis (Neal); his parents, Grace Goodson Shiver and Audrey Dean Shiver; his siblings, Thelma Kelley and Douglas Shiver; and his nephew Tommy Modlin.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Shiver of Jack, AL; his stepchildren, Tommy Greenwood (Mavis) of Opp, AL, Sharon Turner (Sam) of Dothan, AL, Joseph D. "Buddy" Garrett (Kristi) of Pensacola, FL, Larry M. Garrett (Laura) of Jacksonville, FL and Patricia Glass (Marvin) of Jack, AL.; his granddaughter Bridget Johnston (Shane) of Ariton, AL; and his sister Erma Green (Joe) of Jack, AL. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, three nieces, and one nephew.
