He was predeceased by: his wife Myrtle Carter; his parents, Charlie Carter and Katie Carter; and his brother Kenneth Carter. He is survived by: his children, Debra Allen (Jerry) of Springhill, AL, Teresa Allen (Johnny) of New Hope, AL, Ricky Carter (Keetra) of Jack, AL and Steven Carter (Jody) of Jack, AL; his grandchildren, Dana Mosley (Jeffrey), Devin Allen (Jessica), Kaitlyn Peluso (Dayton), Christopher Carter, Hannah Carter, Cody Carter, Brandon Allen (Nikki), Jessica Bryant and Shelby Spicer; his great grandchildren, Connor, Emily, Lauryn Mosley, Jayden, Morgan, Addilyn Allen, Trenton, Emma, Allyssa and Brendon Allen; and his siblings, Clifton Carterl and Janira Scroggins (Jerry). He is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews.
