He is survived by: his children, Scott Phillip Swanson (Cindy), Jeffrey Todd Swanson (Tracy), Nicole Christine Kistler and Kelly Anna Kistler; his grandchildren, Sean Swanson, Will Swanson, Ella Swanson, Lia Bacon, Monroe Mortara and Carter Mortara; his siblings, Susan Swanson Thornton (Michael), Sally Swanson Paton (Thomas) and Stephanie Swanson Czerniecki (Frank); and his parents, Willis and Nonie. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and friends.
