He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Anderson and Ruby Rector Thompson; his wife Mattie Sue Crow Thompson; and his sisters, Burnice Lea, Hazel Harris and Ruth Smith.

He is survived by: his daughters, Greta Haney (Dewey) and Janet Womack (Keith); his grandchildren, Stephanie Shupe (Chris), Sawyer Haney (Olivia), Chase Womack, Allie Haney (Cooper Whitaker) and Lauren Womack; his great grandchildren, Collin, Finley, Hannah Shupe and Payden Haney; and his sister Betty Watkins.
