He was predeceased by: his parents, Rebecca Jackson Phillips and Rufus Phillips, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Phillips; his children, Felix Phillips of Hurtsboro, AL and Qundia Ragland (Demarco) of Midland, GA; his grandchildren, Dontavious Jones and Demarcus Ragland; and his sisters, Bettye Phillips and Juanita Reed. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
