She was predeceased by: her parents, Ethel Adkinson Horn and Leslie Miles Horn of Wawbeek, AL; and her grandson Will Hitchcock. She is survived by: her husband D. Max Smith of Hurtsboro, AL; her daughter Anita Marie Hitchcock (Paul) of Gulf Breeze, FL; her grandchildren, Mary Miles Banachowski (Shane) of Greensboro, NC, Jack Hitchcock of Washington, DC and Kate Hitchcock of Charlotte, NC; her great grandchild Cooper Daniel Banachowski of Greensboro, NC; her sisters, Mary Sims (Suthern) of Macon, GA and Claire Webb (Joe) of Fairhope, AL; her nieces and nephews, Suzanne Sims of Wilmington, NC, David Sims of Macon, GA, Jennifer Jones (Mark), Joey Webb (Michelle) of Loxley, AL and Connie Weaver (Mike) of Aiken, SC; and her brothers-in-law, Mike Smith (Janice) of Dugout, AL, Brian Smith (Rita) of Port St and Ben Smith (Becca) of Atmore, AL. She is also survived by great nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.
