Betty Jo Self Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jo Self of Hurtsboro, Alabama, born in Union Springs, Alabama, who passed away on October 28, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Eugene Gregg and Lena Frances Cheshire Gregg; her husband Robert P. Self; her siblings, Dorothy G. Williams, Melvin E. Gregg, Lorenz "Smiley" N. Gregg and Samuel P. Gregg; and her son-in-law William Broughton.
She is survived by: her children, Gwen S. Broughton of Jacksonville, FL, Robert "Bob" Self (Wanda) of Columbus, GA and Gregg Self (Barbara Ann) of Hurtsboro, AL; her grandchildren, Justin Broughton (Tonya), Whitney Totty (Daniel), Victoria Anderson, Samuel Bassett (Ashley) and Jonathan Bassett; and her sisters-in-law, Nancy Gregg, Betty Jean Gregg and Dolores Fleming. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family and many caring friends.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Self asked that donations be made to the Hurtsboro Cemetery Fund, P. O. Box 535, Hurtsboro, AL 36860.
