She was predeceased by: her parents, Marion Franklin and Lutie Jane Newton; her siblings, Hattie Lee Harris, Donna Mae Johnson (Enis), Mattie Lou Phillips (Leo), Oscar Frank Newton (Geneva) and Robert Newton, Sr. (Jo Earle); and her great grandchild Elaine Taylor Perkins.
She is survived by: her children, William James McMahan, Jr. (Barbara) and Lynell McMahan Aycock (Michael); her brother James A. Newton (Linda); her grandchildren, Rebecca Aycock Praytor (Nathan), William Aycock, David Aycock and Christen Roth (Jake); her great grandchildren, Charlotte Roth and Henry Roth; her husband William James; and her nephew Robert Newton, Jr.. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
