He was predeceased by: his parents, Vera Strickland and Ervin Strickland; his son Joe Strickland; and his sister Juanita Mitchell. He is survived by: his wife Fran; his son David; his grandchildren, Hope (Cody), Hannah (Jackson), Sarah (Bruce), Joe Jr. and Joshua; his great grandchildren, Owen, Kathryn and Sullivan Wilhite; and his sister Bobbie Bradley (Gary).
