Robert Eugene Douthit Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Eugene Douthit (Huntsville, Alabama), who passed away on November 25, 2024 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Douthit and Myrtle Foy Douthit; and his brothers, Buster Douthit, George Douthit and Frank Douthit.

He is survived by: his wife Ellan Douthit; his son Bobby Douthit (Jennifer); his grandchildren, George and Ella Douthit; his brother Jim Douthit (Judy); his sister-in-law Edith Carter; his daughters, Jan Downing (John) and Suzy Calloway; and his grandchildren, Chace Downing, Cooper Downing and Leah Downing. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, many extended family members, and wonderful caregivers.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Laughlin Service Funeral Home (2320 Bob Wallace Ave SW, Huntsville, AL 35805). A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 29th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Crook Family Cemetery (319 McCullars Ln, Ohatchee, AL 36271).
