He is survived by: his children, John R. Lutz III and Juanita Lutz Owen (Andrew); his grandchildren, John Reid Lutz IV (Kimberley), Graham Owen (Ariel), Mackenzie Lutz and Sam Lutz; his great grandchildren, John Reid Lutz V and Jacob Lutz; and his close friends, James and Elizabeth Smith.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Pisgah Arp Church (3600 Linwood Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In addition to his efforts at Pisgah, John also supported the Gideons, The American Heart Association, Special Olympics, Schiele Museum, and the Upper Cleveland Chamber of commerce.
