He was predeceased by: his wife Faye; and his parents, Johnny Cox and Jeaninne Cox. He is survived by: his daughter Nyoka Martin (Jeff); his sister Jeanne Allen (Bobby); and his grandchildren, Meryl and Major Martin.

A celebration of life was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Laughlin Service Funeral Home (2320 Bob Wallace Ave SW, Huntsville, AL 35805).
