He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Eakes and Velma Eakes; and his brothers, Harold, Mac and Billy Eakes.
He is survived by: his wife Faynell Gentle Eakes; his sons, Carl and Charles (Angie); his granddaughters, Elizabeth Sanders (Derrick) and Cathleen Lowery (Ross); and his sisters, Lorine Jones (Claude), Pauline Chamblee (Jerry) and Betty Sue Marks (Michael). He is also survived by four great grandchildren, one great grandson and three great granddaughters.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville (2411 Memorial Pkwy NW, Huntsville, AL 35810). A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
