She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Sawtelle and Hazel Sawtelle; her husband Fred McDaniel; her granddaughter Becky McDaniel; and her siblings, Gladys Daughtery, Mary Ann Palmer and James Sawtelle.

She is survived by: her children, Karen Wierenga (Tom), Gary McDaniel (Alice) and Ken McDaniel (Regina); and her grandchildren, Micah Wierenga, Josh Wierenga, Aaron Wierenga (Rachel), Christy Quade (Jonathan), Ryan McDaniel and Michael McDaniel (Leslie). She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Weatherly Heights Baptist Church (1306 Cannstatt Dr SE, Huntsville, AL 35803).
