He was predeceased by: his parents, Lavada Ann Nunnelley Light and B. J. Bennefield; and his stepfather Vernell Bennefield. He is survived by: his son Brandon; his daughter-in-law Heidi Light; his daughter Amanda; his son-in-law Jordan McDowell; his grandchildren, Jack Light, Sam Light and Elli McDowell; and his siblings, Michael Light (Sharon), John Oehlenschlaeger, Martha Gross (Tim), Ramona, Tonya Light, Terry Hudson and Michael King.
