She was predeceased by: her parents, Evelyn McBride Crayton and James V. Crayton; her brothers, Walter Wilburn and James Vernon; and her husband Robert E. Carter Sr..
She is survived by: her children, Susan Schumann (Rod) of Huntsville, Robert Carter Jr. of Orange Beach and Alec Carter (Jean Ann) of Sylacauga, Alabama; her grandchildren, Anna Tankesley (Stuart), Alan Schumann (Ashleigh), Brooke Carter, Trey Carter, Andrew Carter, Christian Carter, Katie Carter and Gordon Maples (Oleander); and her great grandchildren, Connor and Caroline Tankesley.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Laughlin Service Funeral Home Chapel (2320 Bob Wallace Ave SW, Huntsville, AL 35805). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
