He was predeceased by: his wife Catherine Layton; his parents, Carl Layton and Mildred Layton; and his sister Mitzi Scoggins. He is survived by: his sons, Tommy Layton (Cheryl) and Frankie Layton (Glenda); his grandchildren, Heather Tubbs (Caleb), Christian Layton (Kylie), Amber Clark (Patrick), Brody Layton and Becca Layton; his great grandchildren, Brayden Layton, Walker Tubbs, Ema Layton, Graham Layton, Kaydence Clark, Wyatt Clark and Quentin Clark; and his family Nannette Crosswy.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Peoples Chapel Funeral Home (195 Brooklane Dr, Bessemer, AL 35023). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
