He was predeceased by: his parents, James Girdley Vines and Jerusha Dabbs Vines. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Ann Wall Vines; his daughters, Jeri Harris (Jimmy) and Jean Hill (Eddie); his grandchildren, Candi Lee (David) and Jordan Hill (Gabriela); and his great grandchildren, Andrew Lee (Lanie) and Cameron Lee. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the First Methodist Church of Hueytown.
