He was predeceased by: his wife Pat Sanford; his brothers, James Edward Sanford and Porter Ray Sanford; and his parents, Porter Sanford and Sarah Sanford.
He is survived by: his children, Christine Graham (Kenny), Scott Sanford and Robert Sanford (Laura); his grandchildren, Hunter Sanford, Michael Graham, Emerson Graham, Kaitlynd Sanford and Alishia Gray (DJ); and his sister Brenda Ragland (Johnny). He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Alabama National Cemetery (3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115).
