He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar McKenzie and Elnora McKenzie; his brother Eddie McKenzie; and his son Johnny McKenzie, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Kay Campbell McKenzie; his daughters, Carol Renee' Holcombe (Mitch Sr.) and Amy Horton (Heath); and his grandchildren, Matthew McKenzie (Meghan), Michael Mckenzie (Lupe), Mitch Jr. Holcombe (Alison), Heath Holcombe (Courtney), Jake Swindle (Sidney) and Blair Norris (Joey). He is also survived by 7 beautiful great grand-children.
