He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Evans and Lily Pearl Evans; his stepmother Lois Evans; his sisters, Gertrude Blackwell and Beulah Henslee; his wives, Carolyn Rylee and Jeanne Evans; and his stepson George Harper.
He is survived by: his sister Betty Davis; his children, Kathy Taylor (James) and Danny Evans (Suzanne); his stepsons, Ron Harper (Janie) and Robert Harper; his stepdaughter-in-law Anne Harper; his grandchildren, Scott Summerlin (Jennifer), Katie Smith (Austin) and Brett Evans; his stepgrandchildren, Marie Patterson (Jason), David Harper (Shonta), Ian Harper, Ruth Harper and Margaret Harper (Michael); his great grandchildren, Alex Easton (John), Abby Summerlin and Aiden Smith; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Isabell, Ashtyn, Jackson, McCrae, Woodrow, Beau, Scarlett Patterson, Emma and Alex Harper; and his great great grandchildren, Henry Summerlin and Caleb Easton.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home (1591 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
