He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Nell Sanders; his sons, Michael and Stephen Sanders; and his parents, Coy Sanders and Jessie Sanders.

He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Stephanie Soma; and his sister-in-law Joyce Blackerby.
