He was predeceased by: his wife Doris Evans; his parents, Aaron Reese and Rena Aldrich Evans; his son Jerry Dean Evans; his siblings, Donald Ray Evans, Aaron Reese Evans Jr., Robert Julian Evans, Benjamin Taylor Evans, Jerry Wayne Evans (Linda) and Mary Catherine Evans; his siblings-in-law, Paul Slappey and Sandra Golden Evans; his stepsons, Clark Sanders and Wayne Sanders; his granddaughter Terri Sanders; and the mother of his children Faye Watson Evans.

He is survived by: his sons, James Lee Evans, Richard Alan Evans, Randall Sanders (Monique) and Kenny Sanders (Rhonda); his siblings, Phillip Lee Evans "Babe", Eva Mae Evans Slappey, Sylvia Jean Evans Parrish (James) and Dorothy Childs "Dot" Evans; and his grandchildren, Dean Jr., Jennifer, Ben, Nathan, Tyler, Aaron, Ashley, Chris, Terry, Alicia (Michael), Sherri (Matt), Brandy, Alexis, Josh, Destin, Chase and Summer. He is also survived by great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
