He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Roy Newell and Ines Inez Kelley Newell; his wife Glenda Diane Aldridge Newell; and his sisters, Barbara Lee Newell Walker and Donna Sue Newell Whisonant.
He is survived by: his daughter Shelli Diane Garrett (Keith); his granddaughters, Audrey Grace and Ava Diane; and his siblings, David Newell and Peggy Cooper (Butch). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Peoples Chapel Funeral Home (195 Brooklane Dr, Bessemer, AL 35023). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
