Billie Joyce Graham Obituary
Billie Joyce McQueen Cook Graham. Billie gained her wings on July 18, 2024. She grew up in Ensley, Alabama and was a longstanding member of the Ensley Community Church. She retired from UAB as the Administrative Assistant of the Lurleen Wallace Cancer Research Biostatistics Department under Dr. Alfred A. Bartolucci.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Graham, her father, George Wesley McQueen, Sr., her mother, Lucille Argo McQueen, and her brother, George Wesley McQueen, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Kellie Travis (John), Thomas E. Cook, Jr. (Lisa), Patrick D. Cook, Sr. (Leta), Barry Graham (Susan), Joey Graham and Jay Graham; Grandchildren, Haley Grace Poer, Max Carter Poer, Dayton Ridge Cook (Ansleigh), Adrian Bailey Cook, Patrick Dayton Cook, Jr., Jack Graham, Alexander Graham, Jordan Luke, Josh Graham, Jesse Graham and Toby Graham; Great grandchildren, Noah and Jenson Graham and Lennon Elizabeth Cook; niece Kristi McQueen; and nephews Keith McQueen Swink and David "Drew" McQueen.
Billie was a faithful Christian, expressing her passion for people with her servant's heart. She lived her life with two best friends that were true friendships that resisted time, Pam Vann and Shirley Herring, and according to all, were her sisters. Her biggest passion was her grandchildren, and everyone associated with them. She also enjoyed playing the piano and making occasions for gatherings that usually involved her love for cooking and baking.
There is special respect and gratitude for Thomas E. Cook, Sr., the Travis family and the whole Ensley Community.
The visitation will be Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM, at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 10:30 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 12:30 PM, at Alabama National Cemetery, Monetvallo.
